Cost

What you are actually paying for

Two pitching lessons can cost the same and be worth completely different amounts. The price matters, but what comes with it matters more: whether anybody measures progress, and whether there is a plan for the days you are not in the building.

What drives the price

Format, frequency and who is coaching

One on one lessons usually cost the most per hour, small groups less, and memberships that bundle training sessions, a throwing program and technology often work out cheaper per session than buying lessons one at a time. Location and the coach background move the number too.

What to expect for it

Measurement, a plan and a healthy arm

At a minimum you should get a coach who watches every pitch and explains why. Better programs measure progress with tools like Trackman and video, give the athlete a throwing and arm care plan for the other six days, and look at how the body moves before changing mechanics.

At PPL

Memberships, not a pile of single lessons

Most PPL athletes train on a membership: training sessions in small groups, Trackman and high speed video on every bullpen, a phase based throwing program and arm care in the app, and a movement assessment from a physical therapist. Private lessons are available too. We give families exact pricing for their athlete after the free assessment or a free call, because the right plan depends on age, season and goals.

Before you pay anybody

Ask these questions

How will you measure whether my athlete is improving? What does he do between sessions? Who looks at how his body moves? What happens if his arm gets sore? A coach who has good answers to those is usually worth more than one who is simply cheaper.

Questions parents ask

Straight answers

How much do pitching lessons cost?

It varies widely by coach, format and region. Private lessons usually cost the most per hour, while memberships with group training and a throwing program often cost less per session. PPL shares exact pricing after a free assessment or call.

Are group pitching lessons worth it?

Small groups can be excellent if a coach is watching every pitch and each athlete has his own plan. They give athletes time to work between reps and usually cost less than one on one lessons.

What should be included in pitching lessons?

A coach who explains the why, some way of measuring progress like Trackman or video, and a plan for throwing and arm care between sessions. Without a plan for the rest of the week, a single lesson does far less.

Does PPL charge for the first visit?

No. The free assessment costs nothing and there is nothing to buy on the day. You leave knowing what we would work on and what training would look like for your athlete.
